Between the 13th and 15th May, over 150 galleries across London have put on special events and late night openings to celebrate art in the UK capital – here are our top picks.

South London

White Cube Bermondsey
Until 26th June, 144-152, Bermondsey St, SE1 3TQ

Exhibition of Andreas Gursky’s latest photographs, produced in the last four years, that explore the ‘essential commonality’ of contemporary life and the forms and structures of global capitalism.

Kristin Hjellegjerde
Until 4th June, 2 Melior Place, SE1 3SZ

Richard Stone presents the ‘The Knight Divided’ which reflects on the artist’s spontaneous sculptural process in relation to the physical materiality of clay, marble and bronze to explore wider perceived dichotomies between artist conceit and authenticity, strength and vulnerability, resistance and surrender.

Grove Collective
Until 14th May, 9b Battersea Square, SW11 3RA

Grove Collective presents ‘Alex & Philippe & Willi & Zach’ a solo show by Berlin-based artist Navot Miller, curated by Russell Tovey.

Central London

Thaddaeus Ropac
Until 21st May, Ely House, 37 Dover St, W1S 4NJ

The first solo presentation in the UK of works by Rosemarie Castoro, a central figure in New York’s minimal and post-minimal art scene.

Cromwell Place
Until 15th May, 4 Cromwell Pl, South Kensington, SW7 2JE

Through intervened photography, Sumie García Hirata approaches the representation of landscape from various angles. The artist embroiders golden threads directly onto her photographs as a visual, physical and symbolic resource to materialize the intangible in the landscape.

Gagosian
Until 30th July, 17-19 Davies St, W1K 3DE

This is the first solo exhibition of Spanish sculptor, Cristina Iglesias at Gagosian. The exhibition features works from the ongoing Entwined and Growth series, dense cyborg accumulations of foliage cast in aluminium and studded with cabochons of coloured glass.

East London

Victoria Miro
Until 14th May, 16 Wharf Rd, N1 7RW

Cosmopolitan Super Fruits, an exhibition by Danish artist John Kørner, builds on themes of consumerism, globalisation and networks of distribution and exchange.

Maureen Paley
Until 5th June, 60 Three Colts Lane, E2 6GQ

Maureen Paley presents ‘The Toxic Camera’ by Jane and Louise Wilson. Working within an expanded field of photography, the artist’s work has dealt both directly and indirectly with the ways populations and governments impact the environments we live in.

Hales Gallery
Until 20th May, 7 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6LA

‘Flames Like Rainbows’ is a solo exhibition of works by the artist, John Hoyland. This show focuses on paintings from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s — a key period in Hoyland’s oeuvre, marking a departure from pure abstraction, allowing the outside world to enter his art.

West London

Dada Gallery
Until May 15th, Gallery 6, 4 Cromwell Pl, South Kensington, SW7 2JE

Dada Gallery are hosting a group exhibition of artists including Daniel Obasi, Samson Bakare, Abe Ogunlende and Cameron Ugbodu at Cromwell Place.
The exhibition explores themes of gender expression, sexuality and queerness through the lens of two photographers and two painters living in Africa and in the West.

Dellasposa Gallery presents ‘Re: Wild’, a group exhibition presenting artworks that explore wild landscapes and the possibility of rewilding our state of being.
